Charlie & Paulette on the set of “Modern Times”, he was involved in every part of his film making process including the hair of his leading ladies, though he had a hair dresser on the set he preferred doing it himself, possibly the woman looking over at them may be her…Charlie recalled or possibly it was Paulette (I’m not 100% sure) how the gamine played by Paulette came to have the hair style she did.
This is not verbatim but the gist of it:
Paulette had come onto the set looking stylish as she always was, she had a beautiful hairdo which Charlie knew would not do to convey that the Gamine was homeless and poor, so he poured water over her head, uncombed it made it look more bedraggled and more fitting to her situation, Paulette was crushed, I’m sure her hair do at the end of the film which was more to her liking was probably to appease her.
I believe this is where the tramp and the gamine sit in front of a house and get better acquainted.
Drinking Games with Dominic Monaghan
Hug, Marry, Kill with index cards written by someone who does not care about Hobbits. This is from Paul F. Tompkins’ wonderful interview show called Speakeasy, wherein he talks with celebrities over drinks, then plays some fun games with them. I encourage all to check it out!

It was then that Elrond first saw Celebrían, and loved her, though he said nothing of it.
